Traditional DVC rental brokers take 25-40% of every transaction. We built something better.
When you rent DVC points through a traditional broker, the broker collects payment from the renter, takes a commission of 25-40%, and pays the member what's left. The renter never talks to the member. The member has no control over pricing. And both sides pay for the middleman.
A member renting 200 points at $20/point generates $4,000. The broker keeps $1,000-$1,600 as commission. The member receives $2,400-$3,000. That's a significant chunk of value removed from the transaction without adding proportional benefit.
DVC Home Resort connects members and renters directly. Members list their points, set their own prices, and communicate with renters through the platform. Renters browse verified listings, compare options, and deal directly with the person who owns the points.
Our platform provides the infrastructure that makes this safe: identity verification, escrow protection through DVC SafePay, standardized rental agreements, and a support team if anything goes sideways. The transaction is protected without a broker taking a quarter of the money.
A marketplace puts more money in the member's pocket and more options in the renter's hands. The platform earns a smaller, transparent fee for providing the technology, verification, and escrow that makes the whole thing work. Everyone wins except the old-school broker model.
