Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has been on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop since 1971, and it remains the most consistently desired DVC property in the system more than fifty years later. The combination of South Pacific theming, direct monorail access to Magic Kingdom, views of Seven Seas Lagoon across to Cinderella Castle, and the deeply nostalgic feeling for guests who grew up at Disney World creates demand that outpaces every other resort at nearly every booking window. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and 'Ohana dining are additional draws that keep this resort in a category of its own.
Room types at the Polynesian span from Deluxe Studios in the longhouse buildings to the famous overwater Bungalows on Seven Seas Lagoon. Studios sleep four and include a kitchenette, with standard-view rooms facing the resort grounds or pools. The Bungalows are the most aspirational — and most expensive — room type in the entire DVC system: overwater structures with private plunge pools, lagoon views with Cinderella Castle framed in the distance, and full two-bedroom layouts sleeping eight. A week in a bungalow runs 700–900 points; at $21/point, that is $14,700–$18,900 for the stay.
Polynesian studios sell out at the 11-month booking window within hours during any popular week, meaning renters must either find a Polynesian owner who has already secured a reservation or plan 11–12 months in advance and work through the booking window process. For off-peak travel in January or September, the 7-month window occasionally has inventory — but don't plan around it for popular dates. Rental prices run $21–23 per point.
